No Word Till Monday of if Clark will Play
November 7th, 2009 | by Matt Loede |Ryan Clark has been on the practice field all week for the Steelers, but as of now, the team isn’t saying if he’ll play Monday night vs the Broncos.
The talk this week about the Steelers has mostly centered around Clark, and if he should or should not play due to his condition.
Clark nearly died following a game in Denver two years ago because of a rare blood disorder that is aggravated by playing in high altitude. While Steelers coach Mike Tomlin has not publicly said so, he is believed to have told Clark to sit out the game.
Clark had his spleen and gall bladder removed during separate operations and he lost 30 pounds after the October 21st, 2007, game in Denver, which ended his season. Many of Clark’s teammates told him he should skip the game.
