Two Possible Backup QB’s Come to Town for a Workout
November 26th, 2009 | by Matt Loede |Two possible backup quarterbacks were in town on the Thanksgiving holiday, as the club worked out vets Patrick Ramsey and Todd Bouman. The two worked out for the Steelers one day after former backup Charlie Batch had surgery to repair his broken left wrist, likely ending his season.
Coach Mike Tomlin has stated that Batch will miss anywhere from two to four weeks as a metal plate was placed in him to help him heal. Ramsey, 30, and Bouman, 37, both were being checked medically, and word is one of them could be inked to be an emergency QB if Ben Roethlisberger is injured or if the concussion he suffered last week gives him issues.
Ramsey was a former first-rounder with the Skins, and played in Denver last season as a backup. Bouman was with the Baltimore Ravens for two months last season and also was a backup in St. Louis in 07.
